Angle Knitting Pattern PDF (size 0-6, 6-12 and 12-24 months)

With sideways elasticity, Angle is a baby cardigan made to fit the baby for a long time. It is available in sizes 0-6, 6-12 and 12-24 months, and will look equally good on boys and girls. The contrast color adds interest to the stripes, and attitude to the baby. The cardigan is worked sideways in one piece. The shoulder seams are grafted using Kitchener Stitch, which results in a totally invisible seam. Directions for all techniques used are given in the pattern.

To make the cardigan, you will need about 400 (550, 700) yd of sport weight wool in MC (light blue in picture), about half of that for the CC1 (dark blue), and a little more than half of that again for CC2 (orange). I strongly recommend using a yarn with a lot of air trapped in between the fibres, as a heavier yarn would make a garment without enough hold. As for needle sizes, see this post.

This pattern is recommended for the intermediate-level knitter, techniques required include knit, purl, increases, decreases, picking up stitches, provisional cast on, Kitchener Stitch, knitting in the round on dpns.
